Spoon Restaurant in Tahoe City

Great little cafe, nice comfort food and very friendly people. We tried to make reservations (website said to call ahead) but that wasn't possible. The host told us just to swing by around 8 and with a little wait time we got a nice table upstairs. Food was awesome, would definitely come back and I recommend you should go and check it out.

We just had an incredible dinner. Yummy Ono. Dog friendly patio. Super nice staff and very reasonably priced. BYOB, but great market across the street if you want wine. We will definitely be back 😊.

Tasty pizza! We got a pie half and half: margherita and Pepperoni: both very very good!

The food is obviously made with love and high quality ingredients. We had the braised short ribs, linguine with homemade meatballs and the pan fried fish. All had amazing flavor and looked beautiful on the plate. The place is very small and we sat near the door and windows which made it kind of cold, but the owner and waitress kept the hot water for our tea topped up. We couldn't resist the desserts and split the lemon cheesecake bar and the million dollar slice (think homemade twix bar). The lemon cheesecake had a very delicate but delicious flavor and the million dollar was very rich. We ended up having to take it to go to finish later. The prices are not cheap but it felt so worth it for the quality and to support a family owned business. We will likely go again if we are back in the area, and will recommend it to others.

Quaint homey family establishment about 15 min from Squaw Valley resort area. Great place to stop for a bite to eat or dinner/lunch. The deserts are off the hook! Open in the winter.

Extremely well prepared food at reasonable, a rarity around Tahoe. This place has been around for a while bit as I understand it has changed in recent times. I had not visited in years and now it will become a regular for me. It's a very small interior so dont plan any large groups in the winter, but that is also one of the things that will draw me here. Make a reservation and have a mellow date here. The food quality and presentation are on par with the best fine dining you will have in Tahoe, especially Tahoe city. Portions are filling and abnormally cheap. Its BYO beer or wine so I suggest a visit to the West Shore Market or similar if you want alchohol. All of the staff was welcoming, even the cooks engaged with us and our server, Kristen, was super helpful and friendly. Will be back many more times.

Delicious food! The Steak & Sandwiches were really good. It's a husband and wife owned place. The wife makes their deserts and they are amazing. I felt like everything was very reasonably priced for the amount of food that you got. The wife was our server the night we went in and she had the most amazing energy. We'll definitely be coming back.

My family enjoyed the most amazing late lunch/early dinner we’ve ever had in Tahoe! My husband and I practice a vegan diet and my kids eat meat.The vegan dish they offered was a “spoon vegan bowl” with mushroom walnut cakes that was a perfect 10! My son enjoyed a chicken dish that was to die for! The desserts and everything else are completely homemade and the chefs are passionate about their creations. I highly recommend Spoon!!

Food so good it hurts!!!! (To leave). We stopped in on a whim and this was the most amazing food we had the whole week in Lake Tahoe! We had salmon, crispy skin chicken and a vegan bowl. All three were amazing! Our drinks were fresh french press coffee and citrus water. We don't normally buy dessert but the food was so good we decided to take some to go. Bread pudding, lemon curd cheesecake on gingerbread cookie crust, and vegan chocolate truffles. Wow!

If you want to go somewhere with your family, this is not the place to go. The place is small and they don’t want the noise of children in the place & they told me clean up from children is too much. The food is good but they have signs up about not having children in the place to disrupt other clientele. We booked for 5:30pm and we were told if we want to eat with children we can do so at 3pm.

Really upset about this place , it's not a place to go with family.They kicked us out from the place because we were making too much noises , they literally told us to be quiet. They have signs inside about loving having children but not wanting them because of the noise , I don't know but I'm from Italy and this things never happened to be before and I know I would never happen there. I couldn't be more disappointed.

Friendly staff, delicious food with plenty of veg options, and an affordable price make Spoon now my favorite restaurant in Tahoe City! We ordered a wide variety of their vegan comfort food and were very pleased with all of them. The Mac n Cheese is incredible, the roasted veggies with linguini is wholesome and nutritious, the cake will make you die of happiness

Very cute place that is reasonably priced for Tahoe! Nice range of food with a lot of vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options, but still plenty of choices for meat eaters as well. Very nice outdoor seating with cute lights. The Mac n cheese was ridiculously good! But all of it was really good. We also got the roasted veggies and the med spread and finished with a few desserts. Also offer a selection of standard but good quality teas. There is a cute dog that greeted us. Overall definitely worth a visit and a nice ambiance for a quick bite to eat.

My favorite secret in Tahoe!! Maybe hard to spot so it might attract more of the local crowd (yay!) but the service makes you feel like you’re dining with family and the food is absolutely gourmet, minus the outrageous prices and charges a completely fair amount for it’s eclectic menu of small, medium, and larger plates. Seriously such a gem on the West Shore I tell everyone this place is the place to go for a date night or if you want to just take a drive to the west shore and stop somewhere you’ll remember. Can’t wait to go back

We drove from North Lake Tahoe especially to try this restaurant as the reviews were generally very positive. The food didn't disappoint and actually surprised us how delicious it was. It's healthy and the owners' passion is felt in each spoonful. The service was impeccable and very friendly.The restaurant is cosy and there was a slight draft on the ground floor but fortunately we were moved upstairs.

Amazing food, serivce and, location. Just Go!

I found this place because my friends were doing veganary(vegan January) and this place seemed to have a vegan option. I am so glad we had the chance to visit because the vegan soup was absolutely delicious. The fried chicken and the chicken thigh cassoulet were also equally delectable. The soup of the day which we started our meal with set the bar pretty high. The entrees did not let us down and the lemon ginger cheesecake at the end kept our tummies happy. We were so happy with the food that we made a reservation for the next night as well. I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you are in the area. Also please note they take reservations so make sure they have space before you go.

When your tired of resort food and want an affordable, high quality, fresh and healthy meal.. head to Spoon. Fabulous/friendly owners and food that belongs in a high end restaurant. Chicken was great - cooked spot on, excellent potato cake & sauce Soup of the day was amazing. Also really liked side of veggies - roasted perfectly with peppers squash and cauliflower.

Such an amazing restaurant in a cute setting. This is yummy gourmet foods in a ma & pa type setting. You will get very healthy and creative foods here. They also have extensive vegan and vegetarian options. All our foods were wonderful and the service was outstanding!Oh and the DESSERTS!!!

Loved sitting upstairs in this quaint little restaurant. The food was DELICIOUS and the staff was sooo friendly. Will definitely be back next time we’re in town!

That place past the main strip of a city you pass by wondering why you’re not stopping to eat there, and are driving further into the woods, and there’s no street lights having second thoughts and are hoping the pictures you’ve seen are true. Well it’s true and it was worth it.

HIDDEN GEM. The food here is worth a Michelin star, for a third of the price. Very fresh ingredients and healthy yet tasty dishes. All the food is prepared artisanily (the owners arrive at the restaurant every day at 6:30am to start preparing the food, and the restaurant doesn't open until 3:00pm). There's only a few tables, so make sure to come early or make a reservation.

An incredibly cute and cozy place with fantastic food and homemade deserts. They also have the most friendly service I've seen in a while, couldn't recommend this place enough!

Spoon was taken over in December 2017. The new owners are trying to keep a similar homely simple food. I'm not sure about simple, the food is amazing made from scratch. The dishes are plated to look fantastic. It really shows the love and care in each dish. If you have allergies or don't like something things are made to order. Think of this place as your local gourmet stationary food truck, but with seating. So update. I've been working here all summer. Spoon makes everything from scratch they do there best to cater to all audiences. Vegan, gf, whatever. They take request from deserts to nightly specials just let them know. I've sampled the food all summer. And it's consistently awesome every time. They put in 14 hour days to make it so. It well worth five stars from me.

Quaint and friendly. Inside and out. They take simple ingredients and make them special. Attentive staff that really knew and understood the menu assisted us in our choices, from main course to dessert.Meals & dessert are not heavy, yet satisfying.No pretense, only friendly people that obviously love what they do.Grab a beer or a bottle of wine across the street and enjoy!!
